Jennifer J. Falcinelli - Candidate for Commissioner

For seven straight years, Middletown has been voted the best small town in Frederick County, and that does not happen by accident. It takes neighbors who show up, leaders who listen, and a community that looks out for one another. It takes a nonpartisan board working together, smart infrastructure investment, and dedicated town employees who keep everything running. My commitment is to keep Middletown the best small town in Frederick County, today and for years to come.

I have served as a Middletown Commissioner since 1996 and as Burgess Pro Tem since 2006. Whether I am working on a wastewater infrastructure project or organizing Christmas in the Valley, my focus is the same: a Middletown that is strong, well-run, fiscally responsible, and ready for the future.

Investing in What Matters Most

As Chair of the Water & Sewer Committee since 1998, I have led some of the most important investments in Middletown's future: replacing century-old water lines, building a new reservoir and water treatment facility, and replacing sections of the spring line. Right now, we are working to find the most fiscally responsible path forward on required wastewater upgrades. Safe, reliable water and sewer service is a fundamental commitment we make to every resident, every day. We take care of our infrastructure so it can take care of us.

A Downtown Worth Coming Back To

A strong Main Street is the heartbeat of any great small town. That is why I worked to create the Downtown Revitalization Zone Incentive Program, a practical tool to encourage investment and keep our downtown thriving for families, businesses, and visitors alike. As Board liaison to Main Street Middletown, I stay connected to the people working to keep our downtown vibrant. Please shop local and support our small businesses!

Built for Families, Connected for Everyone

I know firsthand what it means to raise a family here. Dave and I watched our three sons grow up in Middletown schools and they played MVAA sports. They had the kind of hometown experience that stays with you. I continue to advocate for sidewalks, trails, and parks that keep Middletown walkable, safe, and connected for families of all ages.

Experience and Background

I hold a BA in International Studies from West Virginia University and a BS in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University. I worked in Washington, D.C. in the legislative field before transitioning to a nursing career at Frederick Health in the Emergency Department and Interventional Radiology. I currently work per diem for Koniag Government Services, which allows me ample time to devote to serving the town.

Three decades of service as Commissioner and Burgess Pro Tem have given me the institutional knowledge and experience to make decisions that keep Middletown on solid footing, now and for the future.
