The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office as handled several thefts from unattended vehicles in the Town of Middletown over the last few months. These thefts have occurred in parking lots at Town parks and businesses during the daytime hours.  Valuables have been left in plain sight inside the vehicle and the suspects have accessed the vehicle and stolen the items by smashing a window. These thefts occur very quickly and the suspects flee the area, often working as part of an organized group. Attached are some tips to deter and prevent thefts from vehicle. Any suspicious activity should be reported immediately to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office by calling 911.
