Middletown's fire hydrants will be flushed the week of October 19th - October 23rd, 2026 starting at 9:00 AM each morning until 2:00 PM each day.  Residents may experience fluctuations in water pressure and some sediment in the water.  Residents are encouraged to plan ahead for the hydrant flushing and certainly to limit water usage during this time.  Please do not wash any laundry during your homes zone flushing day. For more detail, click on the Water/Sewer link under Town Government on the home page of the website. For Zones that are flushed on Wednesday, October 21st, 2026, please make sure that your trash receptacles are kept up on the curb to avoid them from washing down the streets.

Plan now to collect items that can be recycled or re-used and take them to our fall recycling event on Saturday, September 19th from 9am - Noon which is also the Town’s next bulk trash day. (Instead of putting metals objects out for the bulk trash, please consider bringing them to the municipal center parking lot for recycling.) Items that will be collected in the parking lot behind the Middletown Municipal Building include used clothing and textiles, metals, paint cans and electronics.  FALL RECYCING EVENT 

Beginning September 8th, the Town will start an improvement project at Remsberg Park that is expected to continue for several months. The project will create ADA-accessible paths to all multipurpose and baseball fields, add new bleachers, and provide additional ADA parking.

All fields will remain open during construction; however, some paths and access points may be temporarily closed.

Please follow posted signs and use caution around construction areas.

Bulk Trash Pickup for Middletown Residents is Saturday, September 19th, 2026, at 6AM. Please check the Town website or Frederick County Recycling's website for accepted and non-accepted items. Only 2 items per resident. Bulk Trash

The Town of Middletown will be performing standard maintenance work on the sewer line beginning Wednesday, August 26th, 2026 for approximately 4 weeks. This could create unusual noise in the sewer connections to residences and could potentially create suction on residential traps and floor drains. Expect periodic short duration road closures when town crews are working in your neighborhood. Not all sections of town will have this work done.
