Board of Appeals Public Hearing - Case B-25-04 - Variance - 312 East Main Street
An application for a variance has been received from an applicant for the property located at 312 East Main Street, Middletown, MD. The applicant has requested a variance for the following conditions: to increase the allowable back yard coverage from 10% to 12.59% and increase the maximum allowable back yard coverage cap from 1,000 square feet to 2,490 square feet. It should be noted that included in both coverage totals are historically significant structures, and preservation of unique or historic landmarks is one of the key goals of the Middletown Comprehensive Plan.. The requirement for community centers in a residential district can be found in 17.32.170.D(13) of the Town Code.
The applicant was referred to the Middletown Board of Appeals (BOA) because only the BOA may grant variances to the Middletown Municipal Code.
