Frederick County Department of Aging Community Outreach in Middletown

The Frederick County Department of Aging today announced that it will will hold monthly community outreach services in Middletown, Md. beginning May 7 at Middletown Town Hall. Program Specialists will be onsite the first Monday of every month from 1-3:30 pm to answer questions, provide information, and provide application assistance to seniors, their families, and caregivers on Medicare benefits, housing options, medical and dental services, the Meals on Wheels program, and other county services and resources.  Middletown Town Hall is located at 31 West Main Street in Middletown.

Federal and county services, benefits and resources that trained program specialists will be onsite to help seniors with include:

  • Medicare benefits and Medicare rights
  • State Health Insurance Program (SHIP)
  • Assistance with Medicare billing and billing problems
  • Filing Medicare appeals
  • Medicare D counseling and assistance
  • Assistance with denials, appeals, and grievances
  • Medicare advantage plans (HMOs)
  • Medical needs and equipment such as hearing aids, eyeglasses, other durable medical equipment
  • Applications for homeowner's and renter's tax credits
  • Assistance with energy/utility bills
  • The Frederick County Senior Tax Credit
  • The Frederick County Homeowner Tax Credit supplement.
